PREPARING FOR YOUR KYBELLA APPOINTMENT
Avoid alcohol, aspirin, vitamin E, fish oil, non-steriodal anti-inflamatory medications like ibuprofen and Advil 3-5 days prior to treatment to decrease the risk of bruising.
To avoid possible discomfort, you can take 1000mg of acetaminophen (Tylenol) one hour before your scheduled appointment.
Plan on swelling and bruising. Make sure to have some over the counter antihistamine like Zyrtec at home to take for swelling and potential itching after treatment.
You may apply topical Arnica or take oral Arnica as directed 3 days prior to treament to reduce the risk of bruising.
Drinking 8 oz. of pineapple juice twice a day for 2-3 days before and 2-3 days after injections may also help with potential bruising.
AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT
Expect swelling and redness. You may also experience bruising, pain and numbness. This can last 1-2 weeks.
You can ice the treatment area but be careful not to apply ice for extended times. 20 seconds on, 40 seconds off is a safe amount.
Sleep with your head elavated the first 3 nights.

Do not scratch, pick, massage or manipulate the injection sites.
Results are usually seen in 1-3 months. Multiple treatments are required for optimal results.
